Nuts & Bolts

WHAT

The Golden Bears competed in the  INAUGURAL IBLA box lacrosse team for Northern VA.  We had players from DC, Bethesda and  VA.  We participated in the IBLA Maryland region which comprised of four teams: Maryland Arrows, Maryland Bombers, Golden Bears and the Westminister Wild.    We ended up winning the region after a fierce battle with the Westminister Wild and Baltimore Bombers in the playoffs.  We headed to Florida and competed in Nationals where we left with a record of 4-2.

WHERE

  • We will play a total of 7-10  regular season games in the NABLL from June to August- More information to come.

  • We played our home games last year at Dulles Sportsplex, but have not decided on arena for 2022.

  • Practices will be officially start in April at St. James indoor facility in Springfield, VA.  We might have occassional  practices in April/May in Purceville/Dulles.  The goal is to have a practice every two weeks in April and once a week in May-through season.

COSTS

  • It will be for ages 18 and above and a financial and participating commitment will be required.  The new league has not determined the price point.  We will make our adjustments after the league disseminates information.   Please wait for Coach Gray or Coach Hodge to invite you to register.

  • Additional cost will be for equipment (optional) and jerseys mandatory).

  • A store will be set up, but only for registered players.

GAME DAY ROSTER

  • The roster for each game must be submitted the day of and can only have 20 official players.  The roster can be bigger but some players might not be guaranteed to play every game. This is an extremely competitive league so pay to play is not the model for this league.  We can protect 30 guys for the season, but can hold more players as development players.  A development player can be picked up by another team as they will be registered in the NABLL database and made available to other GMs.
